The purpose of the Compliance Assistance Program (CAP) is to make certain that all underground storage tank (UST) systems are tested as required by regulation to protect human health and environment from contamination from leaking underground storage tanks.
This is a new program whereby the tank owners can view the Underground Storage Tank Branch's database when they have certain test(s) that are due on their underground storage tank systems. (There will no longer be an annual or monthly mailing to the tank owners.) To see the report, go to the UST Database link on the MDEQ UST Home Page and look under Online Reports for the CAP summary report.
If a tank owner decides to participate in the Compliance Assistance Program (CAP), the owner will simply provide dates that tests are completed to the Underground Storage Tank Branch who will update the CAP database. The report viewed online will be updated daily incorporating the new dates provided.
If you have questions about the Compliance Assistance Program, please contact Lorin Thomas or Mike Pigford.
