THREE BEACH ADVISORIES LIFTED
(JACKSON, Miss.) -- The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality
(MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, has lifted advisories
previously issued for the following locations:
● Station 4 ? which is located from the west end at the Box Culvert to
the east at Ballantine Street in Bay St. Louis.
● Station 10-A ? which is located from the west at the VA Main Entrance
to the east at Courthouse Road in Gulfport.
● Station 10 -- Gulfport Central ? which is located from the west at
Alfonso Drive to the east at the VA main entrance.
Water samples show the areas have attained acceptable bacteria levels.
Swimmers are reminded that the Beach Task Force has a standing
recommendation that swimming not occur during or within 24 hours of a
significant rainfall event.
The Gulf Coast Research Laboratory, which performs water sampling of the
Mississippi Gulf Coast beaches for MDEQ, notifies the agency when areas
return to acceptable levels and safe conditions. Information on the
